I Am The Pocketbook Queen!

Self Portrait

The Pocketbook Queen My hair is straight and to the middle of my back. Isn't it amazing what you can do with hair these days? Knots for the night and then after a few hours, let your hair down for an awesome 'fro. That's one of my favorite things to do on a night out - TRANSFORM! Especially on a super hero night, or didn't you know? I'm Super MG.

All knotted up I turned 27 this past May - can you believe it? - sometimes I feel old, but mostly not. I was born in Brunei and lived there until I was seven when I moved to the States with my family. Grew up in Delaware, college at UMass Amherst, honors track, earned my bachelors in Communications and graduated Cum Laude. Spent some time in Europe - went to Oxford University and studied English Lit and traveled some to Paris, Edinburgh and Amsterdam. I worked as the Advertising Writer for an in-house agency in New Orleans, which was very cool. And I've also written for a music and entertainment magazine, worked in retail and as a waitress.

Look at my scalp. Just look at it. Now, among other things, I'm making pocketbooks. I've been painting quite a bit too, but those are only fit to hang in my abode, and to give to friends as gifts because they are gracious. Anyhow, this pocketbook thing is borne out of the idea that I need to be creative and have arts and crafts as one of my outlets. And also because one doesn't see these cool-ass pocketbooks in stores, though I would like to see them in the stores (although the pocketbookqueen line is slowly starting to rear its pretty head in various shops), and if I did see these kind of pocketbooks in stores, I would definitely buy one. I mean...wouldn't you?

Check out my cheerleader smile. Of course the real reason I probably make pocketbooks is to satisfy my fix. For I am a pocketbook addict. Now if I could only figure out how to make shoes, I'd be all set.

Enjoy it, love it, sport it proudly.
